Newcastle United face a huge battle to repeat their performances from last season.

That is the view of defender Dan Burn, who admits they may have overachieved last term.

After finishing in the top four last time around, a strengthened Magpies squad will also play Champions League football this season.

Burn told Football Focus: "For us to go and do what we did last season is going to be a huge ask, adding in those extra games and knowing that we haven't got that surprise that we did last season with the way we went after teams.

“People know what to expect from us now, it's going to be tough, I think if we can stay in those European places, that will be a very good achievement.

"It will be lovely to have another cup run like we did last year, we've obviously been waiting a long time for some sort of silverware here."
