Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew is standing by goalkeeper Tim Krul.
The Magpies let slip four goals against Manchester United on Boxing Day, before conceding seven in a game for the first time since 1986 in the defeat at Arsenal on Saturday.
Pardew said: "It's fair to say it has been tough for Tim. He is young, and this has been good experience in a kind of positive-negative way.
"You are going to get periods like that unless you are at a really massive club, such as Manchester United.
"You are going to get days when you concede too many goals. It happens. I remember Arsenal conceding eight at United. I think that most young goalkeepers do get this in their careers - and you have to be able to put it behind you.
"I have looked at him this week and Tim looks fine. Confidence is not really an issue with him.
"I think all this will put him on his mettle and make sure that against Everton he really is on top of his game. "
