Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew has shrugged off missing out on Watford defender Adrian Mariappa.
Watford refused to sell to Newcastle on deadline day.
Pardew told the Evening Chronicle: "We can hold fire now for the centre-half and we can probably get a better deal when we do."
