Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew says Middlesbrough will be good for Sammy Ameobi.
The winger has joined Boro on-loan this week.
Pardew told the Evening Chronicle: "It's too soon, maybe, in this first team.
"But the experience he will gain on loan at Middlesbrough will stand him in good stead for next season."
