Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew says Hatem Ben Arfa is doing all the right things to stay in the team.

Ben Arfa struck in defeat at Arsenal on Monday.

Pardew told the Evening Chronicle: "I can't fault him - I thought it was terrific.

"It was a great goal (at Arsenal), and his workrate was terrific.

"You have to say that."
