Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew was delighted to give Adam Campbell his Premier League debut in victory over Stoke City.
Pardew was the man who handed Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain his debut at Southampton and Jonjo Shelvey his big chance at Charlton.
And he reflected afterwards: "Nobody loves putting young players on more than myself.
"I gave Oxlaide-Chamberlain his debut at 16 at Southampton.
"I did so with Mark Noble with West Ham at 16; Jonjo Shelvey was 16 at Charlton.
"Adam Campbell was just as good (on his debut).
"He deserved his little chance and he was involved in the goal. He passed the ball to Marveaux and it was a very simple pass.
"In his mind it will be the greatest pass he's ever played in his career.
"But he will play a lot better ones than that."
