Newcastle boss Pardew furious with foreign trio for Spurs thrashing

Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew steamed into two of his French flops after defeat to Tottenham.

The Daily Star says Hatem Ben Arfa did himself no favours when he came off the bench during the 4-0 debacle, infuriating his manager with his poor work-rate.

Harsh words were exchanged in the dressing room afterwards, though the midfielder wasn't the only player on the receiving end of a Pardew tongue-lashing.

The Newcastle boss could not hide his disgust at Newcastle's woeful performance as they crashed to a fifth successive home defeat.

Fellow sub Sylvain Marveaux was also criticised for his lack of effort while it has emerged Pardew had considered hauling off an out-of-sorts Davide Santon within half an hour, before eventually withdrawing him at the interval.
