Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew has hit back at Graeme Souness over the Scot's claims he should be sacked.
Pardew faces a long stadium ban after headbutting Hull midfielder David Meyler on the touchline during Newcastle's 4-1 win.
Ex-Toon boss Souness insisted it was a "a sackable offence" though and that Pardew had "gone too far".
But the manager responded: "It's a bit strong coming from him.
"He's the man who took a (Galatasaray) flag and planted it in the middle of a derby situation, so coming from him it's a bit harsh.
"But people have their own opinions, I can't do anything about that."
