Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew is delighted with what he's seen from Gael Bigirimana.

Pardew believes that 18-year-old Bigirimana will continue to get "better and better" as the weeks go on following his promising Premier League debut against Aston Villa.

He told the Evening Chronicle: "It was a tough game to come into.

"He came in at a time when we weren't playing well.

"That is difficult for a young player.

"I hummed and harred about sticking him on if I am honest. But he was terrific."
