Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew has no doubts about owner Mike Ashley's commitment to the club.
Pardew was asked whether the billionaire would ever sell up to some Middle Eastern trillionaire who just has to add an English Premier League football club to his already impressive portfolio.
He told the Sky Sports: "That's a question for Mike. All I know is that Mike is very supportive and very focused on trying to make Newcastle a success.
"He's been good with me in terms of trying to support me in what I try to do and I thank him for that.
"In terms of the club, I still think we've got a good side. It's like anything.
"You can go back two years ago when we finished fifth and everybody said we're the model for the next group of Premier League clubs and then suddenly we weren't the model.
"That's football. It changes very quickly, but that's not to say that we can't get back there and that's my ambition."
