Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew is delighted with what he's seen from Siem de Jong in preseason.
Toon boss Alan Pardew reckons Dutch signing De Jong is a throwback to former England international Teddy Sheringham.
"There is excitement here because we've brought in quality this year," said the Newcastle boss.
"We're going to play a brand of football that the fans here expect.
"Towards the end of last season after losing [Yohan] Cabaye, we didn't have enough offensive players to put on the performances we're used to.
"But now we have a big squad and a good mix of players.
"I've been very lucky to have managed some great players and he is terrific.
"Siem can be one of the best.
"He reminds me of Teddy Sheringham in the way he conducts a game and conducts himself and I hope that will show."
