Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew says the British transfer market doesn't offer value for money.
The Toon have again shopped abroad this summer.
"The market is very difficult," Pardew said. "Jordan Rhodes's price (£12m) looks heavy.
"It's such a shame. If we could have some realism around our own strikers, maybe they would get more opportunities."
