Newcastle United boss Kevin Keegan is ready to go English as he plans to boost his new squad in the remaining weeks of the winter market.
The Guardian says Keegan met with Toon chairman Chris Mort yesterday and drew up a list of transfer targets, who are understood to include the Tottenham Hotspur striker Jermain Defoe and Manchester United's Wes Brown.
The Chelsea pair of Wayne Bridge and Shaun Wright-Phillips have also been mentioned. Keegan is believed to have a £30m transfer budget for the January window.
