Newcastle United boss Chris Hughton had one message to offer Andy Carroll as he joined up with the England squad for the first time.
As Hughton started his preparations for the trip to Bolton, he sent Carroll away on his latest adventure praying a man who has become increasingly pivotal returns unscathed.
Asked what his message to the 21-year-old would be, he replied, with only a hint of humour: "Don't come back injured, that's the overriding message."
