Newcastle manager Eddie Howe has dismissed speculation linking his side with Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Portuguese veteran has signed with Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia this month.
However, a report in Marca stated that a clause in Ronaldo's contract would allow him to join Newcastle on loan if they ever make the Champions League.
"We wish Cristiano all the best in his new venture but there's no truth in that from our perspective," Howe stated of the matter.
The links to Newcastle have emerged as a result of the Saudi connection.
The Magpies are owned by a consortium spearheaded by the Saudi Investment Fund.
