Newcastle boss Eddie Howe was delighted with Matt Targett's performance for the draw at West Ham.
Targett stepped back into the team after missing the 1-0 win over Aston Villa due to loan rules.
Targett put in 12 crosses and had 80 touches as well as creating three good chances for Newcastle.
He also won four out of four ground duels and got on the ball often to produce 35 passes.
Howe said: "I thought Matty was very, very good.
"I think in the two performances he's given, he's been very, very confident and slipped into the team very impressively. He used the ball well, I thought he attacked well.
"He put a lot of balls in the box, and just his general, all-round game, his defending was of the highest level, in my opinion."
