Newcastle United boss John Carver is disappointed by the boycott planned for their clash with Tottenham.
Carver faces the troubling prospect of fans staying away while he is fighting a relegation battle.
Asked first whether he would join the boycott if he was not in Mike Ashley's employ, he responded: "I would go to the match because I support the team."
Carver was asked whether he accepted that those boycotting are also supporters.
He told the Evening Chronicle: "That's a good question.
"I think they do support the team but they have obviously got their own issues. I respect those issues but I was asked "would I go?" and I would say yes, I would go because I support the team."
