Newcastle United boss John Carver admits their 1-1 draw with Stoke City "wasn't a classic".
Peter Crouch's late header canceled out Jack Colback's opener for Newcastle.
Carver admitted the contest had been a poor match to watch.
He said: "It wasn't a classic, was it? It was a pretty average game, certainly one game that is not going into my DVD collection.
"But when you get yourselves in front with a good goal, you think, 'Well, maybe today is our day' because really when we went ahead, there wasn't anything in the game and a draw probably is a fair result.
"But you get yourselves in front with a well-worked goal."
