Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce wants a say on the appointment of their next U23 coach.
The Evening Chronicle says Bruce wants more of an input with the U23s and U18s and would like a say on who gets the job as reserve team manager after Neil Redfearn.
Discussions at the club are ongoing about what happens next with the Under-23 set-up with changes afoot only six months into a new set-up.
Ideally, Bruce would like to have three or four youngsters at a time pushing for recognition for the senior side.
At the moment only winger Thomas Allan and Lewis Cass are regarded as youngsters who would be capable of stepping into the senior squad.
