Newcastle boss Allardyce admits Given out "2-3 weeks"

Newcastle United boss Sam Allardyce admits goalkeeper Shay Given will be missing for some weeks.

Allardyce must make do without Given against Sunderland and, possibly, Liverpool. Given did not feature against Portsmouth after further groin trouble and his manager yesterday said: "Shay will be out for two or three weeks. It is a little bit of a worry because it is another groin injury but it is not as fearful as we first thought."
