Newcastle United retain hope of signing Hertha Berlin striker Pierre-Michel Lasogga.

The Sunday Express says Lasogga, 22, was on Tyneside last week.

Toon were hoping the secret trip would seal an £8million move to them.

But it's understood Lasogga's mother would prefer the 22-year-old to stay in Germany.
