Newcastle United are in contact with Manchester United for Marcos Rojo.

The Argentina international is available from United in January, having spent part of last season on-loan with Estudiantes.

The Manchester Evening News says Rojo has had offers from Sheffield United, Newcastle, MLS clubs and La Liga.

The Argentinian is surplus to requirements at United and has also been linked with a move back to his homeland, with Boca Juniors touted for a £4million move.

Rojo is unlikely to be registered by United for the second-half of the Premier League season.
