Newcastle are said to have held talks over signing Scott McTominay from Manchester United.
The Scotland international is no longer first choice at United, as he is deputy to Brazil star Casemiro.
Per The Athletic, Man United are not eager to sell McTominay at present, as they cannot bring in a replacement this month.
The Red Devils are likely to discuss the subject with Newcastle in the summer.
Both clubs are also vying for a spot in the Premier League top four at present.
McTominay may not be first choice, but he is a valuable squad member for Man United boss Erik ten Hag.
