New York's Angel named MVP for third-successive season

Juan Pablo Angel has been named New York Red Bulls' MVP for the third-successive season.

The Colombian star joined the Red Bulls in 2007and since his arrival has broken every scoring record for the club, including the amount of total goals scored in all competitions.

Angel has also won the club's Golden Boot award in his three seasons there and has tallied 45 goals in 72 MLS regular season matches.

He has had an amazing career so far, which begun in Colombia with Atletico Nacional before moving onto Argentinean giants River Plate before making close to 200 English Premier League appearances with Aston Villa.

In other awards distributed to New York Red Bulls players, Mike Petke won the Defender of the Year award, Jeremy Hall earned the club's Young Player of the Year award, Albert Celades won the Newcomer of the Year and midfielder Seth Stammler won the Red Bulls' USSF Humanitarian of the Year award for the third year running.
