MLS club New York Red Bulls are planning a swoop for Real Madrid striker Raul. The 32-year old all-time leading Real Madrid goalscorer is on the outer at the Santiago Bernabeu and despite being contracted until 2011, the Red Bulls are hoping to lure him to New York.
Reports in both of Madrid's leading sports newspapers, AS and Marca, suggest that an end-of-season bid will be made by the Red Bulls who have also been linked with Barcelona star Thierry Henry.
Raul's agent Gines Carvajal confirmed interest in the former Spain international but said, ultimately, that the decision will rest with the player.
"Some clubs have asked about Raul, but that is a question that depends exclusively on the player and he is very happy in Madrid," Carvajal said.
