New York Red Bulls in major marketing deal

The New York Red Bulls have reportedly agreed the largest marketing partnership in their history with Yanmar, reports, www.sportspromedia.com/. According to reports in the US, the Major League Soccer outfit have agreed a deal that will see the Japanese heavy equipment manufacturer sponsor a range of the side's assets, including their training jerseys.

Specific terms of the agreement are yet to be formally released, but it is reported that Yanmar will also have prominent branding around Red Bull Arena, the team's home ground.

One report on NJBIZ.com, which cites 'a source familiar with the transaction, who was not authorised to discuss it publicly', says the agreement is worth seven figures over a multi-year term.

It is thought that Yanmar, currently a sponsor of Manchester United, will have its branding on the sleeve's of the Red Bulls' jerseys, signage in Red Bull Arena's lower bowl, access to luxury suites for all of the team's home games, and integration in the club's media channels.

"As Yanmar uses soccer as the game to build their brand in this country, we are honoured to be the club to help drive this awareness and exposure," the club's general manager, Marc de Grandpre, was quoted as saying.

He added: "Both brands exhibit the same passion for the synergistic core values around innovation and community."
