New York Red Bull's Kandji attracting interest from England

New York Red Bull forward Macoumba Kandji is reportedly attracting interest from the English Premier League. Recent visitors Manchester City and Tottenham are believed to be showing interest whilst reports in The Sun suggest that Blackpool and Bolton are monitoring the 24-year old Senegalese attacker.

Kandji's agent Richard Trafford told ESPN that there was plenty of interest in his client.

"There have been Premier League clubs interested," Trafford said. "Harry Redknapp said he liked him, the Spurs backroom staff spoke to him after the game and enquired what his situation was. (Emmanuel) Adebayor and (Kolo) Toure came up to him after the City game and said 'you are doing really well over here but you are the kind of player that could play in the UK'.

"Since then there have been some discussions and, obviously, Manchester City have very big targets, but they said he is one to keep an eye on. One of Crystal Palace's club agents called us and said they were very interested. Everyone wants to know what his visa situation is as well, including Blackpool.

"In Europe, Olympiakos, Marseille, Paris Saint Germain, St Etienne and Lens have all called us. [There have been] two calls from Portuguese clubs and one from Atalanta in Italy, FC Copenhagen. There is a lot of interest."
