New Wolves boss Lopetegui: We're happy to get second chance here 6 years on

Julen Lopetegui is happy getting a second chance with Wolves.

The Spaniard admits he turned down the job six years ago to take charge of the national team.

He told AS: "Yes, six years ago, practically a day before being in charge of the National Team, I was on the plane to come to Wolverhampton. But it is true that this story was postponed because it seems fate had us together again, and in this case, we are here with the hope of helping them, I insist, to change the dynamics of the team.

"I have had the opportunity to come to England several times. Due to different situations or decisions, but it was something that was among my objectives and my dreams to be able to lead a project in a league as spectacular as the Premier one day.

"It has always been in our heads as staff, and at this moment the paths have crossed and we are happy to be here being aware of the difficulty of the challenge, but at the same time to contribute our grain of sand and change the dynamics of the team."
