Laurence Bassini is the entrepreneur behind Watford FC Limited - a company which is on the verge of taking full control of the club's parent company, Watford Leisure Plc. That deal should be completed in the coming weeks and Bassini intends to bring stability to the Hornets.
"I think Watford's fans will realise there is no quick buck to be made at Vicarage Road," he told the club's official website. "I'm not interested in short-terms gains.
"This club needs some real nurturing to progress towards the goal of sustainability that has been set out before my arrival. That's what the new board and I will be looking to bring."
He added: "Of course this is a key time in terms of player trading, so this is an area on which we're focusing particularly closely over the coming weeks and months."
