Incoming Roma coach Jose Mourinho is targeting a raid on Liverpool this summer.
Gazzetta dello Sport via Le 10 Sport says Mourinho is eager to shake up Roma's midfield for next season and is encouraging a move for Reds ace Gini Wijnaldum.
Off contract in June, Wijnaldum is expected to leave Liverpool this summer and has been offered to Bayern Munich and Barcelona.
Mourinho is also keen and Roma have made initial contact with the player's camp.
For the moment, Wijnaldum is demanding a three-year contract worth in excess of €4m-a-season, which is out of range of Roma's current transfer budget.
This season, the Holland international has managed 49 appearances for the Reds, scoring three goals.
Mourinho will succeed fellow Portuguese Paulo Fonseca as Giallorosso coach at the end of the season. He took the job after his dismissal by Tottenham last month in the week leading up to the Carabao Cup final, which they lost to Manchester City.
