Serse Cosmi admits he's delighted to be back in work at Livorno.
Cosmi was named new coach at Livorno on Monday after the dismissal of Gennaro Ruotolo.
"Not working was becoming a cause of anxiety for me, if not a nightmare," confessed Cosmi. "It is liberating, taking a huge weight off my shoulders. I did not like being left out of Serie A, so I thank the President for this huge chance."
The former Perugia boss has not worked in the top flight since he was sacked by Udinese in February 2006. He had spent two years at Brescia in Serie B, but was also fired in September 2008.
"I am proud and honoured by the faith Livorno have shown in me, which gives me the push to go straight out there and get to work.
"Right now I am feeling a mixture of nerves and enthusiasm. I don't need to 'make up' for anything, as in a 20-year-career it can happen to be fired twice. I only need to prove something to myself."
