New Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers is targeting Aston Villa midfielder John McGinn.

The Mirror says McGinn is a player he has previously lost out on.

He had targeted the then-Hibernian midfielder for Celtic before the start of the current campaign, but missed out when Villa tabled a £3million offer to take him to the Championship.

The 46-year-old has returned to the Premier League with a taste for silverware and insists he isn't “deluded" to aim for more with his new employers.

Rodgers walked away from Celtic after back-to-back Trebles and with them closing in on a third.
