Middlesbrough defender Matthew Bates has suffered another injury scare while on-loan at Norwich City.

Boro's medical men were yesterday assessing Matthews Bates after the defender returned from his loan spell at Norwich City with a knee injury.

Canaries sources reported that Bates jarred his knee in the 1-1 draw with Hull City on Tuesday, says the Evening Gazette.

It's not clear at this stage whether the Eaglescliffe-raised player will return to play for Norwich in Saturday's game at Leicester City.
