New Houston Dynamo GM Jordan takes scouting trip to Spain

Houston Dynamo have sent recently-hired general manager Matt Jordan to Spain for an off-season scouting trip.

The MLS club is looking at any available options in Spain who have started to export more players to the USA and Canada in recent years.

Jordan said the idea was to try and bring some cultural diversity to Houston as the Dynamo look to improve their brand both globally and locally.

"I think the Spanish market's become more and more interesting over the last couple of years due to economic reasons and players from that market are becoming more and more attainable than in the past," Jordan told MLSsoccer.com before leaving for Spain.

"I think we want to focus on being a dynamic team that's balanced. This is a very diverse market in Houston, and if the right opportunity presents itself to add to that diversity, we're going to look at it."
