New England's Farrell ready and raring to go for Conference final

Andrew Farrell insists he is fully fit for this weekend's Eastern Conference final first leg.

The second-year defender missed the second leg of the Conference semi-final win over Columbus Crew because of a leg injury but a fortnight's break has him raring to go for the initial clash with New York Red Bulls on Sunday at Red Bull Arena.

"We knew if we moved forward, obviously we'd have two weeks to get ready for the next round," said Farrell of the club's decision to rest him against the Crew. "I think it worked out fine, and I'm glad to back training fully."

The versatile youngster added: "I feel pretty good.

"We've still got three more practices. Each day with recovery and rehab, I'll be available for selection.

"If I'm available for selection, hopefully Coach (Jay Heaps) calls upon me. But if not, I know we've got plenty of guys that can take care of the job."
