Steve Nicol is being linked with a shock return to Liverpool.

The Daily Star says Reds boss Kenny Dalglish is considering handing a Liverpool return to former favourite Nicol.

Dalglish wants Nicol to become his No.2 at Anfield and could secure his services later this week.

Nicol has enjoyed great success in the US with MLS club New England Revolution.
