Jackie McNamara feels Dundee United is in a decent position to challenge for silverware in the next few years.
The former Celtic man has taken the reins at Tannadice after leaving his role as Partick Thistle boss and he was extremely positive about what lies ahead for the Arabs at his press conference unveiling.
McNamara also pointed out that he has arrived in order to help bring success to the club rather than check in for a nice pay packet.
"Obviously where I've come from the money's not been a big thing. (Former boss) Peter (Houston) has made his decision and I respect that. He did a fantastic job here and I wish him all the best," he said.
"I'll just work as hard as I can. We have a great infrastructure, great kids and some great experienced players as well. I think there's so much to achieve here.
"Long-term, we'd want to be challenging for everything. Obviously, that is very ambitious given how Scottish football is at the minute.
"Celtic are miles ahead at the moment, but we want to put together a good team that everyone can be proud of. I know what they've got here, I know everything's in place. It's a good place to come and work. The place sells itself.
"I had a good chat with Stephen on a couple of occasions and got on really well with him. I'm looking forward to it.
"I will try and implement the things I did at Thistle.
"We want the players to enjoy coming to their work and for the fans to enjoy coming to watch."
