New additions will improve Southampton once they adjust – Davis

Steven Davis has backed Southampton's new signings to impress following a period of adjustment.

The Saints have been very active in the transfer market this summer by securing the services of the likes of Maarten Stekelenburg, Cedric Soares, Steven Caulker, Cuco Martina, Jordy Clasie and Juanmi.

It remains to be seen how the new contingent of players will perform at the St. Mary's Stadium but midfielder Davis is convinced that the new stars will come good once they adapt to life at the south coast club.

Davis told the Daily Echo: "Yeah, I think we've got a good squad of players.

"Obviously, it's going to take time for the new players to bed in and get used to how we want to play, and I think they're improving with every training session and getting used to playing with the players, so that's good, but I'm sure the club's still working to reinforce as well and if we manage to get into Europe it will be important to have a good, competitive squad."
