Manchester United legend Gary Neville believes Wayne Rooney deserves a new deal. Neville believes Rooney's ability and presence at the club mean he is worthy of an improved contract.
He told talkSPORT: "I can't think of any reason why Wayne Rooney, with the form that he is in and how important he has been to Man United, [wouldn't get a new contract].
"He's been one of the only constants in what has been the most successful period in Manchester United's history and people shouldn't forget that.
"He's been to three Champions League finals in a short space of time and won five Premier League titles. He's been one of the constants along with Patrice Evra, Ryan Giggs, Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand. But, generally, he's been the real big player for Manchester United.
"At the moment, I see no reason why Wayne Rooney wouldn't want to continue enjoying his football, the way he is, and play at Manchester United."
