Negredo on target for Man City but Bayern Munich too good in Audi Cup

European champions Bayern Munich have beaten Manchester City 2-1 in the final of the Audi Cup pre-season tournament in Germany.

The Bavarian giants fell behind when City new boy Alvaro Negredo netted on the hour-mark but hit back through Thomas Muller's 66th minute penalty and Mario Mandzukic's 71st minute winner at the Allianz Arena.

Former Sevilla star Negredo, who had a few chances in the first half, raced onto a ball from Samir Nasri, holding off Javi Martinez, before firing low past Bayern keeper Manuel Neuer.

However, the home side returned fire after Pablo Zabaleta had been penalised for a questionable handball with Muller converting from the spot before Mandzukic headed home Muller's cross five minutes later giving Pep Guardiola an early piece of silverware following his move to Munich.
