Samir Nasri is rediscovering his best form for Manchester City following a lay-off with injury.
The French playmaker helped guide City into the Champions League Round of 16 by scoring a quality opener on the hour-mark in the 2-0 win over AS Roma at the Stadio Olimpico on Wednesday night.
Nasri was sidelined for just over a month with a groin problem but was thrilled to open his European account for the season in what was a vital fixture for the reigning Premier League winners.
"It was important for me to score as after my surgery it took a little bit of time to come back to that level and now I am," he told Sky Sports 5.
"We are a team and we did it today."
Nasri fired in off the woodwork from range in the 60th minute before Pablo Zabaleta added a second a little over 15 minutes later to send City through to the knockout phase with group winners Bayern Munich.
