Napoli striker Michu expects Swansea return

Napoli striker Michu expects to return to Swansea City this summer.

Boss Garry Monk is likely to hold talks with Michu in the coming weeks, with the player's future uncertain after a difficult year following his loan switch to Serie A.

"I don't think the club will exercise the option, seeing as I was injured for so long, but my only desire is to help Napoli in this final portion of the campaign," Michu said.

"Will I return to Swansea? I really don't know, the truth is I'm not thinking of my future right now. I just want to heal.

"It has been difficult and there's nothing worse for a player than being injured. In my case, it's the second time I have been through this agony, but I try to stay positive. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

"The first operation did not go as planned. In March (2014) I returned to playing, but the ankle still hurt and I thought that after the summer it would resolve itself so I could start the season properly.

"I gritted my teeth until November, but at that point the pain had become unbearable. I feel better after the second operation and it seems as if the ankle has healed. I can't wait to get back to feeling like a football player."
