Napoli star Victor Osimhen admits he was close to moving to Saudi Arabia over the summer.

The Nigeria international says the money on offer almost convinced him.

He told the Obi One Podcast: "It was very high, very difficult to reject, it would change my life.

"The more times I said no to the Arabs, the more they increased their financial proposal, but I said: no guys, I'll stay.

"I wanted to continue playing in Europe. I spoke with Napoli and together we decided to refuse. I didn't want people to think that he wanted to leave.

“Football is played for money, although there is also much more."

Host John Obi Mikel joked with Osimhen about a possible move to Chelsea: “I will be in charge of mediating to make that happen. Since (Didier) Drogba we have had no one like you."

Osimhen responded, stating, “I don't have a favourite Premier League team, but I had 2 shirts, Chelsea's and Manchester United's.

"Most of my friends are for Chelsea, although some others are for United."
