Napoli coach Reja dismisses boo-boys after draw

Napoli coach Edy Reja dismissed the boo-boys after yesterday's 1-1 draw with Bologna.

Marco Di Vaio pounced on a triple defensive howler to cancel out Christian Maggio's goal as Bologna hold Napoli to their second straight home draw.

The Partenopei were jeered by their own supporters after a 1-1 draw, with hometown boy Paolo Cannavaro coming in for particular abuse.

"The people do not appreciate when the team is in this situation and cannot bring home the points. I heard applause too, as the fans did encourage the side. The jeers were at the end because we didn't win," insisted Reja.

"We got off to a strong start and took the lead, so the team was finding its rhythm, but then Bologna scored and the fear set in.

"Admittedly, after that we did not play well. Bologna closed up and were dangerous on the counter with Francesco Valiani and Marco Di Vaio. We tried to push forward and did fight to the end for a victory."

When asked what he would change to stop this run of two points from six games, Reja had no real answers.

"I don't know any other way to work. When we find the results again and get back to winning ways, it will be the same side we always knew."
