Napoli coach Rafa Benitez is keen to hear from Manchester City. The Daily Star says City bosses could hand Benitez a 12-month deal while they wait for Pep Guardiola to see out the remainder of his contract at Bayern Munich.

And it emerged last night that the former Liverpool and Chelsea boss is keen on a return to English football at the Etihad.

A source close to the Spaniard said: "He has always wanted to work in the Premier League again because he thinks it's the best place to be.

"It would have to be the right offer for him and managing Manchester City appeals to him. It's something he would definitely be keen on."
