Napoli boss Gennaro Gattuso says former AC Milan teammate Paolo Maldini should remain as the club's technical director.
Maldini is expected to be pushed out of the club once Ralf Rangnick arrives to take charge.
“The Maldini family wrote important pages in Milan's history," Gattuso said after Sunday's 2-2 draw.
“There can be no debate about him as a man, but I think he can still do very good things for Milan as a director."
Gattuso added: “I hope to stay at Napoli for as long as possible and write important pages for this club and this beautiful city."
