Nakamura competing against good players at Espanyol

Espanyol recruit Shunsuke Nakamura has admitted he is competing against very good players for a spot in the first team.

The former Celtic midfielder spoke of the quality of opposition he faces to get into the first eleven and knows he will have to work extremely hard.

"I have found myself in a team that have a high level of technical qualities," he said during his first press conference.

"I have to compete against very good players, but I'm sure it will be a great experience. I will have to train hard and fight to make the first team.

"For the time being, though, I have to work on my physical levels and try to gel with my new team-mates and try to understand them. I want to focus 100 per cent so that I get to play and help the team."
