Myhill urges Hull colleagues to follow example of Boateng

Hull City keeper Boaz Myhill sees captain George Boateng's as the perfect role model example in their fight against relegation. The Dutchman was knocked unconscious in a brutal challenge with Tuncay Sanli and had to be taken to hospital with a severe amount of blood in his mouth during his side's 2-0 defeat by Stoke on Saturday.

"There was blood all over the place. It wasn't really nice to see. It's never good to see a friend and team-mate in such a distressing situation," Myhill said.

"George is as brave as a lion and that's why he's had the career he has had.

"He is a leader and he will put his head where there is danger. That's why he is our captain."

Hull's defeat leaves them a point adrift of 17th placed West Ham with a crucial clash against Burnley at the KC Stadium to come next, and Myhill urged his team to take a leaf out of Boateng's book if they are to survive.

"It is up to the rest of us to follow his lead now," he added.

"Someone has to step up to the plate because games are running out and the match with Burnley coming up is massive."
