Murray excited by prospect of Potter taking charge of Brighton

Glenn Murray is excited by the prospect of Graham Potter becoming the next manager of Brighton.

The Seagulls are in talks with Potter's club Swansea City with a view for him to succeed Chris Hughton, who was sacked last week.

Albion striker Murray said: “That's great news. He is obviously leading the race and favourite to become our new manager.

“I knew no more than what the betting odds and what the media outlets said.

“It is great to have a man at the helm and I look forward to working with him in pre-season.

“He won't just have taken the job on a whim.

“He will have looked at the players, he will have done his homework on players, spoken to the club about who he can bring in, what his budget is.

“I'm sure he has got a great idea of what philosophy we are going to play and if his philosophy is going to be immediate or if it is going to be a transition.

“We will wait and see but I can't wait to get back and play for him."
