Murdocca injury opens door for Kruse at Brisbane

The broken leg suffered by Brisbane Roar's Massimo Murdocca has kept the door ajar for Robbie Kruse.

The troubled youngster is in danger of being squeezed out of the Roar squad because of salary cap issues and with the club likely to bring in Scottish import Bob Malcolm, things may be made more difficult.

But one man's misfortune could turn out to be a blessing in disguise for Kruse who could be used as an injury replacement player for Murdocca who will be sidelined for up to three months.

Kruse's two-year contract expired at the end of June but he has remained with the Roar in a bid to push onto the playing list for the 2009/10 season.
